The Physical Education Study Program (Prodi) of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Megarezky University (Unimerz) held a socialization activity on 'Basics of Prevention and Treatment of Sports Injuries' at LANIANG Vocational School Makassar, on Thursday (14/12/2023).
This activity is outing class in the Injury Prevention and Treatment course taught by Wahyu Munandar, M.Or. This activity was led by Physical Education Study Program students class 2021 class B.
This activity was warmly welcomed by the Principal of Laniang Vocational School; Wusmal Tenrisenna, S.Pd., M.Pd., Gr who was represented in this activity by the PJOK teacher; Ardiansyah, Spd and Nur Apni, S.Pd.I., Gr.
In her speech, Nur Apni, S.Pd.I., Gr said that students should pay attention to the material presented so that they can apply it when experiencing or dealing with injuries during sports, especially currently Laniang Vocational School is holding Sports and Arts Week (Porseni).
Several students, namely Irpan and Fadli, were seen practicing examples of how to deal with common injuries using first aid equipment such as cuts, abrasions, bruises/constitution, dressing using elastic bandage and first handling on fracture grade 1.
On this occasion, Wahyu Munandar, M.Or as the course lecturer gave several tips for preventing injury during exercise or training, including by reminding you not to forget the warm-up procedure by jogging, the aim of which is to increase body temperature and stretching by relaxing the muscles and every joint.
"It is important to apply these two procedures first to prevent several common injuries that can occur, one of which is muscle cramps or mice (local term). "Muscle cramps are a common injury but they are very dangerous if they strike while someone is in a pool/river," he said.
On closing statement, Wahyu also reminded students not to forget about self-protection when exercising, starting from clothing that must be appropriate for the sport, shoes, socks and other safeguards such as Shin Guards (dekker) and head gear.
Meanwhile, on this occasion, Ardi, his nickname, also said that in the future when students decide to continue their education at tertiary level, Megarezky University could be an option, considering that he is also one of the outstanding alumni of the Unimerz campus which has a jargon.
