Megarezky University (Unimerz) is one of the largest private campuses in Makassar City. Recently, this campus went viral in the world of education because it was said to be a pioneering campus for the socialization of the Open Days Method in South Sulawesi (Sulsel) Province.
It is known that Open Days activities at Megarezky University have been taking place since December 2022. Initially, Unimerz only targeted 7 schools in Makassar City, but as a result, by March 2023, Unimerz had brought in hundreds of students from dozens of schools in South Sulawesi.
Appreciation as a pioneering campus in socializing the open days method was given by teachers accompanying students to Megarezky University.
"It seems that currently there has been a change in the pattern of socialization, I think this is the only campus that has just held activities like this (Open Days). "And if we call this activity it's not more about going out, but as a form of transformation in the learning of our children, who usually sit in class, but can now learn while recognizing what they will be like in the future," said Kartini, S.Pd as Deputy Principal of SMAN 17 Makassar.
"Our hope as teachers is that this activity can provide provisions for our students. Because it is possible that some of our children aspire to go to Megarezky University. Indeed, at first we saw that Unimerz was just a small campus, but when we entered, we felt like we were in for a surprise. Because Unimerz turns out to be a large campus, the facilities are complete, all the practical tools are available. "God willing, after returning from this visit, we will also convey this to our students who have not been able to visit Unimerz," he hoped.
The same thing was also expressed by Lija as an accompanying teacher from Mutiara Ilmu Vocational School, Makassar. He hopes that his students will be interested in continuing at Megarezky University.
“We express our gratitude for the services provided by Megarezky University. We are very satisfied and hopefully some of our students will be interested in joining Megarezky University. "I especially pray that Megarezky University will be even more successful," he hoped.
Meanwhile, Eka Sari Ridwan, SKM., M.Kes as Chair of the Unimerz Admission Institute expressed his thanks and highest appreciation to all students who were present to make the Open Days activities a success.
"We would like to thank all school principals for giving permission for their students to visit our campus. Initially we only targeted 7 schools to come to our campus, but thank God the enthusiasm from the teachers and schools was very large. So to date, dozens of schools have visited the Unimerz campus to take part in the Open Days program, not only schools in the city of Makassar, but also from the regions. "We really hope that, after participating in the Open Days, students will be interested and interested in joining as Unimerz people," he hoped.
For your information, because the number of study programs at Megarezky University is quite large, visiting time for each study program is limited to a maximum of 5-10 minutes. The students are given direct understanding by the Head of the Study Program or Lecturers/Staff in the Study Program.
