As a follow-up to the realization of grant funding through the Beginner Community Assistance Program (PMP) from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemdikburistek RI) in 2023. The Megareszky University (Unimerz) Lecturer Team is implementing a community service program with the theme "PMP Training Products in Efforts to Increase the Added Value of Processed Seaweed in Laikang Village, Mangarabombang District, Takalar Regency."
In this PMP activity, three proposing lecturers from across study programs within Megarezky University were involved, namely Nurses. Imran Pashar., M.Kep as the Proposing Chair of the Nursing Professional Education Study Program, secondly Nur Insani Amir, S.Si., M.Si as the proposing member of the Bioinformatics Undergraduate Study Program and thirdly Wahdaniar, S.Si., M,Si as a member proposer from the Biomedical Undergraduate Study Program.
The implementation of the PMP also involved several students including Afifah Zulfa from the Undergraduate Nursing Study Program and Yundar Liana from the Biomedical Undergraduate Study Program. The activity took place with enthusiasm from the community which focused on the women of Puntondo hamlet, Laikang Village, Manggarabombang District, Takalar City, on Saturday (8/9/2023).

The PMP activity was attended by 25 people consisting of 20 housewives and 5 from Laikang village officials. In his statement, Imran Pashar as Chair of the Proposing Team said that the problem currently faced by partners is that the majority of the Laikang 90% village community are women who only have the status of housewives and whose main livelihood is completely dependent on seaweed products, so through this program it is hoped that they can help the government. Takalar city, especially local parties, to develop a new form of preparation using seaweed as raw material, namely by making liquid soap."
The series of PMP activities include providing counseling regarding seaweed delivered by Wahdaniar S.Si., M.Si, providing counseling regarding the benefits of seaweed in terms of health delivered by Ners. Imran Pashar, S.Kep., M.Kep and provided training in processing seaweed, namely organic soap products (liquid soap) with the main ingredient being seaweed, guided and delivered by Nur Insani Amir, S.Si., M.Si. The community's very high enthusiasm attracts attention so that activities like this are really needed by the community to broaden their knowledge and open up business land in order to improve the economic status of the local community.
"Hopefully in the next program we will still be given the opportunity and trust to utilize grant aid so that we can reach a wider community service by collaborating with related sectors," hoped Imran Pashar.
On that occasion, Mrs. Rohana as Chair of Puntondo Seaweed Cultivation, together with village officials represented by the Village General Treasurer who is a partner in implementing the PMP, expressed her gratitude for inviting partners in this activity which involves the community and village officials in the processing program. seaweed into a liquid soap product called "Cheo Body Wash".
