In the context of community service, Megarezky University (Unimerz) held the opening of Real Work Lecture (KKN) Class XII Academic Year 2022-2023, at Megarezky University Hall, Saturday (19/11/2022).

The activity, which carried the theme 'Smart Village: Towards a Progressive Society', was also attended by Unimerz deputy chancellors, Unimerz Deans and Deputy Deans, KKN field supervisors, as well as Unimerz students who will carry out KKN class XII.

The number of students who will depart for KKN is 537 people, coming from 3 faculties, namely the Faculty of Pharmacy, the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), and the Faculty of Computer Science.

In his report, Muh Khaedar, S.Pd, M.Pd as Secretary of the KKN Committee explained the purpose of holding KKN by Unimerz students.

"The aim of implementing KKN, apart from academic requirements, is that KKN is expected to provide a learning experience by going directly into the community, and synergizing with the community and village government. "Of course implementing KKN is a challenge, because the knowledge you gain at the bench will be tested at the KKN location," he said.

"KKN will take place in Sinjai district, a total of 7 sub-districts where KKN is located. 35 villages. This means that there will be 35 posts for students in the future. "Meanwhile, the time for implementing the KKN is from November 21 to the next 6 weeks," he added.

Meanwhile, Vice Chancellor III Unimerz, Dr. Jalal, M.Pd advised all KKN participants to always be kind, friendly and always maintain the good name of the Megarezky University campus.

“Please, maintain the good name of the alma mater, by showing attitudes and behavior as a student. Show that you are an intellectual community. Never show disgraceful attitudes. This KKN is a series of tertiary education tridharma programs, namely community service. "This is where you will later serve yourselves to society," he said.

“Students are agents of change. Because of the knowledge you have gained, you must apply it there. You have to create a program to develop programs in the village. Please take care of yourself, and stay together. Because you are Unimerz's mirror. "If there is just one person who does something bad, then Megarezky University will be tarnished, and they will definitely not be allowed to serve there," he said.

The symbolic send-off of KKN students was marked by putting on alma mater jackets to the student representatives who would depart for KKN.
