A total of 23 New Pharmacists for Period IV, Faculty of Pharmacy, Megarezky University (Unimerz) were officially inaugurated and took the oath at Mahoni Hall, Hotel Claro, Makassar City, Saturday (11/3/2023).

This time the inauguration and oath taking were also attended by the Chancellor of Megarezky University; Prof. Dr. Dr. Ali Aspar Mappahya, SPJP(K), Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy; Dr. apt. Jangga, M.Si Chairman of PD IAI South Sulawesi; Dr. apt. Andi Alfian, M.Si, Head of the Pharmacist Professional study program; Dr. apt. H. Saparudiin Latu, S.Sc., MH, M.Kes, the ranks of the Indonesian Pharmacists Association (IAI) South Sulawesi, as well as all lecturers/staff within the Faculty of Pharmacy.

"Today's Pharmacist inauguration is very special, because the Pharmacists who are being sworn in today are Pharmacists who are declared to have passed the Indonesian Pharmacist Competency Examination (UKAI), where the UKAI is a historic moment in the transformation of Indonesian Pharmacist education. Along with the increase in the quality and variety of exam questions, and the passing limit value increases. This proves that there is an increase in the quality of competence of pharmacists who graduate. "So those who are appointed today as Pharmacists are truly qualified and very lucky," said the Dean of Pharmacy, Unimerz.

Furthermore, he also said that there were 4 documents received by pharmacists after being sworn in, one of which was a competency certificate.

"For fellow Pharmacists who have just been appointed today, we need to remind you that, of the 4 documents that Colleagues received today, there are 2 documents whose validity period is only 5 (five) years. The first is a Competency Certificate, which is a letter of recognition of the competence of a Pharmacist to be able to carry out professional practice in pharmaceutical facilities in Indonesia. This means that in 2028 it MUST be renewed through the Re-Certification program. "This is the Government's mandate through PP 51/2009 article 37. The Recertification Method is through collecting 150 SKPs which include 3 mandatory aspects, namely Practice SKP, Learning SKP, Community Service SKP and 2 non-mandatory Aspects, namely the Knowledge Development Aspect and the Scientific Publication Aspect," he explained.

Meanwhile, the Chancellor of Megarezky University; Prof. Dr. Dr. Ali Aspar Mappahya, SPJP(K), congratulated all the new pharmacists graduating from Unimerz period III.

“Representing the Chancellor of Megarezky University, I congratulate all the newly sworn-in pharmacists. Please know that this pharmacist's oath also means your inauguration to become a pharmacist. "This inauguration also marks the addition of pharmacists graduating from Megarezky University who, God willing, will take part throughout the Indonesian archipelago," he said.

“Saying the oath only takes a few minutes. But this short process has a very deep meaning. This is also the beginning of your very long pharmaceutical practice in the future. "So never deny the oath that has been recited," the key is.
