The academic community of the Bachelor of Pharmacy Study Program, Faculty of Pharmacy, Megarezky University (Unimerz) held community service in the form of free health checks and treatment for the people of Manggalung Village, Mandalle sub-district, Pangkep Regency, on Saturday (27/5/2023).

The aim of holding this activity is to determine behavior and assess knowledge related to self-medication through selecting the type of medicine needed to treat the disease, as well as knowing the health and treatment problems experienced by the community through providing health examination services.

This service activity targets 100 residents in Magalung Village, Mandalle District, Pangkep. Some of the activities carried out are health checks such as checking blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar and uric acid.

In his statement, apt. Ahmad Irsyad Aliyah, S.Farm., M.Si as Chair of the Unimerz Undergraduate Pharmacy Study Program said that the service activities carried out by his team were very warmly welcomed by the residents of Magalung Village. In fact, he said, residents were very enthusiastic about taking part in this series of activities.

"This activity is one of the implementations of the tridharma of higher education for community service, which is the moral responsibility of an educational institution to provide benefits to the surrounding community, especially to residents of Magalung village, Mandalle sub-district, Pangkep district. "With a friendly welcome and high enthusiasm from the residents of Magalung Village for this activity," he said, Tuesday (6/6).

"Hopefully this collaboration will always exist between the pharmacy faculty, especially the Bachelor of Pharmacy study program and all Manggalung village government officials and residents so that it can have a big impact on both parties," he said.
