The Physical Education Study Program of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Megarezky University conducted an outreach visit to SMA Negeri 12 Makassar which is located at Jln. Moha Lasuloro No. 57, Antang, District. Manggala, Makassar City, on Monday (24/7/2023).
It is known that the visit was the final assignment of the Physical Education and Sports Sociology course taught by one of the Unimerz Physical Education Lecturers, namely Wahyu Munandar, M.Or.
This activity aims to provide material in front of students, especially class III, represented by the science and social studies departments. The theme given to the students was 'Violence in Sports'.
The presenters in this activity were class 2021 class A students, namely Asman and Rahmat Sugito along with lecturers who taught the course.
On that occasion, students gave several examples of acts of violence in several sports and the case study was the Kanjuruhan tragedy in 2022 which killed hundreds of people.
It was seen that the students were interested in discussing the tragedy because it was considered a violent event with a very large number of victims. Even FIFA as the parent world football organization strongly condemned this tragedy and concluded that there were 2 fatal mistakes in this case, namely the inability of the organizing committee to manage the national football competition and the error of the security forces who were not well coordinated in handling the thousands of people in the stadium.

This really attracted the students' attention because SMA Negeri 12 Makassar has many achievements in the sports of futsal and football.
This activity also received a positive response from the principal of SMA Negeri 12 Makassar Dra. Hj. Ariani, by providing space and permits for activities so that students, especially class 3, can make the Megarezky University Campus their choice in continuing their education to tertiary level, seeing that the campus has a very good accreditation rating at LLDIKTI Wil. IX South Sulawesi, West Sulawesi and Southeast Sulawesi (SULTAN BATARA).
In his statement, Wahyu Munandar, M.Or as a physical education lecturer hopes that in the future SMA 12 Makassar students can become pioneers who can provide a reflection of maturity in competing.
"The hope is that SMA 12 students can be pioneers in showing an attitude that reflects maturity in competing, such as being orderly in every match played by both players and supporters, being able to show sporting values in every appearance and spreading peace as the orientation of the sport of football," hoped Wahyu Munandar, M.Or when asked for information by Unimerz Press Personnel.
"Attitudes like this can be an effort to change the image of the sport of football, especially in the city of Makassar, to be better in the eyes of the public," he said.
