The Physical Education Study Program (Penjas) of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) of Megarezky University (Unimerz) visited the Senior High School (SMA) Specialized in Sports Talents in the Province of South Sulawesi (Sulsel) which is located at Jalan Pajjaiang, GOR Sudiang Complex, Biringkanaya District , Makassar, on Monday (30/1/2023).
The purpose of the visit is to provide outreach regarding injury prevention and treatment. It is known that the implementation of this socialization is the final assignment of the Injury Prevention and Treatment course programmed by fifth semester students of the Physical Education study program at Unimerz.
In his statement, Wahyu Munandar, M.or as the Lecturer in the course said that the Special High School for Sports Talents was the main target in this socialization.
"So that output This course is right on target, so it is fitting that this material is delivered at a sports talent school, namely material about how to prevent injuries from occurring either during practical learning or training, considering that physical and technical training activities at SMANKO have a larger portion than general learning. , so that there is a chance of injury either directly, indirectly or indirectly secondary injuries "that is, injuries to the same place/part are caused by inadequate healing and forcing physical exercise," he said.

Apart from that, in his presentation, he also explained a little about the factors that cause injuries and several examples of injuries during sports.
“Sport is a medium for realizing injury/trauma/injury. This is due to several factors including warming up And stretching those who are less than optimal then do core training with irregular intensity causing several parts of the body to experience high pressure. Sports injuries occur in the system musculoskeletal namely the body's movement system which consists of muscles, bones and joints," he explained.
“Some examples of injuries that commonly occur during physical training include; bruises, bruises/constitution, muscle cramp, strains And sprains, dislocation, fracture, fainting and bleeding. "If the training procedures have been fulfilled but injury cannot be avoided, then the most appropriate method to practice is the Rest, Ice, Compression and Elevation (RICE) method," he added.
Finally, Wahyu Munandar, M.Or also emphasized that students should not underestimate the warm-up actions when they want to do sports.
"To the students not to underestimate the warm-up which is the initial procedure before training by jogging to increase body temperature, then stretching namely stretching the muscles and joints to the maximum so that when doing core exercises the body's movement system becomes flexible. Core training should be started with a light-difficult intensity so that the body can adapt to the techniques applied later. cooling down is the final procedure so that blood circulation is maintained when the body experiences a condition up and down during training. "This procedure is a tip that we hope can be applied by young SMANKO athletes," he concluded.
The practice of handling injuries was directly demonstrated by Wahyu as the speaker and Agus Ismail, M.Pd as head of the Physical Education Study Program, FKIP, Megarezky University.

One of the class III students who is also a young gymnast athlete in the city of Makassar who became a client because of his experience sprains ankle namely by providing bandaging treatment using injury protection media and elastic bandages. Then added injury management through technique massage injured by Agus.
Meanwhile, Atmam Amir, S.Pd., M.Pd., AIFO as the Physical Education Teacher at SMANKO South Sulawesi gave advice to his students to make the Physical Education study program at Unimerz their first choice at the undergraduate level.
"I strongly advise students to make the Physical Education Study Program FKIP Megarezky University their future choice if they want to continue their education at university," he asked in front of the Unimerz group and socialization participants.

This can certainly be something that attracts students' interest in studying at UNIMERZ, as well as several conveniences offered for studying at a campus that produces many outstanding young athletes, including registration and payment using online media, learning facilities including every room being equipped. "LCD projector, 2 air conditioners in each classroom, quite complete indoor and outdoor fields and B accreditation for the study program," he hoped.
