The Physical Education Study Program (Penjas) Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Megarezky University (Unimerz) held activities outing class with the form of socialization about 'The Existence of Traditional Games to Improve Student Fitness', at SMA Negeri 13 Makassar, on Tuesday (5/12/2023).
This activity is an assignment from the Elementary School Education (PKS) course taught by Wahyu Munandar, M.Or. This activity received appreciation from the homeroom teacher who is also the Early PJOK teacher, it seems he also participated in the activity until it was finished.
The discussion activity was very interesting because many students asked questions, including about how to answer the challenges of traditional games which are increasingly being eroded by gadgets.
This was immediately responded to by the presenters, namely Agus, Syahrul and Zul, who are Physical Education Class 2023 class B students. That students should not forget traditional games including; enggo-enggo, dende-dende, longa-longga, foreign-foreign, fort-fort, jump rope/rubber, boi-boi, cukke, and others.
This traditional game indirectly trains children's physical fitness, especially as it is played regularly every afternoon after school. This is one of the reasons why these traditional games need to have a place in every student's daily life, especially as this activity is carried out with great joy so that it doesn't feel like it was done in a few hours which makes the physical components (strength, speed, endurance, power , reaction, coordination, flexibility, agility, etc.) will be trained routinely every afternoon.

Wahyu Munandar as the course lecturer also added that students of SMA Negeri 13 Makassar should not become a generation mager which in health terms is called hypokinetic, namely lack of movement which can trigger the emergence of various diseases such as diabetes mellitus (DM), hypertension, obesity, etc. which can now attack not only old people but young people.
After the activity was carried out, the school principal Hj. Nursyamsiah, S.Pd., M.Pd officially received the UNIMERZ group in his room. He really appreciated the activities carried out as a form of strengthening the relationship between the two institutions and providing positive education to students who will soon be taking their semester exams.
"Hopefully this activity can be carried out routinely every semester in a different form, one of which is involving the Health Department to carry out general health checks at SMA Negeri 13 Makassar or creating programs such as technical guidance that are oriented towards improving students' mental health which can reduce crime among teenagers or other forms of violence. in sports competitions," he said.
At the end of the activity, students distributed several gifts/gifts which were: rewards to the students participating in the discussion for having the courage to ask questions and put forward ideas and closed with a photo session with teachers, students and Unimerz students in the school yard with the hope that the students of SMA Negeri 13 Makassar will be able to continue their education at the Megarezky University campus.
