The Nursing Professional Education study program (Prodi) at the Faculty of Nursing & Midwifery (FKK) Megarezky University (Unimerz) consistently carries out community service activities every semester.
This activity is one part of the tri dharma of higher education which is routinely carried out every semester. This community service activity was carried out in two different locations, namely at the Bangkala Community Health Center and at RW 7A. Bangkala Village, Manggala District, Makassar City, Thursday (21/12/2023).
This activity took place very lively and it seemed that residents were very enthusiastic about taking part in various free health service activities.
In her speech, Ners Sintawati as the activity coordinator said that this community service was the third activity carried out in the Bangkala sub-district working area as a village assisted by the Nursing Profession study program.
"This time community service is the third activity carried out in the Bangkala sub-district working area as a village assisted by the Nursing Professional Education Study Program, but this time it has been shifted from previously in RW 7B to RW 7A with the aim that this routine activity can target the entire Bangkala sub-district area which is FKK target area," he said.
"The health services provided include random blood sugar checks (GDS), blood pressure measurements, body weight measurements, health screenings, health education and various other services. "Meanwhile, in a separate location, the same activities were also carried out at the Bangkala Community Health Center," he added.
Meanwhile, in her speech, Ms. Sudirman Effendi as Head of the Nursing Professional Education Study Program said that community service is a form of the tri dharma of higher education which must be consistently carried out by universities towards the community.
"Community service is a form of Tri Dharma that is consistently carried out in the community. Similar activities have been going on for three semesters, this time focusing on socialization efforts to increase public knowledge regarding various health information carried out by the Lecturer Team according to their respective competencies," the key.
On that occasion, the Chairman of RW 7A said that his party was very happy because they could get free health services from the Unimerz lecturer team.
“We are very happy with the presence of the Lecturer Team from Unimerz who provide various services free of charge to local residents. "We hope that this activity can continue to be sustainable," he said.
For your information, this community service activity will also be carried out at SMPN 19 Makassar school by several other lecturer teams, however, because it is still a holiday, this activity will be carried out after the school holidays.
