Unimerz Dental Engineering DIII Study Program Chooses Barania Village as Location for Community Service

Megarezky University (Unimerz) D III Dental Engineering Study Program successfully held Community Service in Barania Village, West Sinjai District, Sinjai Regency, from 28 September to 4 October 2022.

The theme of Community Service is changing the paradigm of society from a sick paradigm to a healthy paradigm.

Through the context of dental and oral health, the concept of Community Service activities formulated this time is different from before.

This activity carries the concept of real work lectures in general, but the duration of implementation only lasts for one week.

This activity involves all the academic community of the DIII Dental Engineering Study Program, namely lecturers, laboratory assistants, and students with various activities.

Like the Mass Brush with a segmentation of elementary school children, providing free dentures to the public which begins with molding the patient's jaw.

Then the dentures were installed by a team of doctors and Dental Engineering lecturers at Megarezky University.

Other activities that take place are creative activities such as competitions that bring students closer to the community, in the form of competitions, sports and gymnastics.

On different occasions, during community service implementation, lecturers are also active in research activities.

By collecting data related to research titles raised by each lecturer assisted by students, dental and oral health education.

The local village government, through the Head of Government Section, Abdul Rahman S Pd, was happy that his area was visited by many people with different work backgrounds.

He conveyed this at the event to attract community service participants.

Head of the DIII Dental Engineering Study Program, Dr. Umar Dg Palallo, A.MdTG, SKM, M.Kes explained the reasons for carrying out Community Service in Barania village.

"Because we see the natural potential which is truly pleasing to the eye with the various natural mountain panorama tourist destinations on offer," said Dr. Omar.

The panoramas on offer include Galung Village, Point 1000 MDPL, SaluBirayya and Pattiroang waterfalls.

The friendly and enthusiastic welcome of the people is the main attraction for being able to spend time with the people of Barania.

The strong synergy between village officials, community leaders, religious leaders and the community is a force for developing the village.

So that Barania Village is included in the ranks of 50 tourist villages in Indonesia among the 70,000 villages in Indonesia.
