Lecturers and Students of the Diploma IV Medical Laboratory Technology (TLM) Study Program, Faculty of Health Technology, Megarezky University (unimerz) successfully held Community Service for the Odd Semester 2022/2023 in the Wahyu Makassar Vocational School Hall, Wednesday (22/02/2023).

The aim of holding this community service is to provide education regarding obesity and health checks such as checking blood type, measuring Body Mass Index (BMI), cholesterol, asthma and blood sugar for all students and teachers at Wahyu Vocational School, Makassar.

Also present at the community service activity were permanent lecturers in the D-4 TLM study program, students and all teachers and students of Wahyu Vocational School, Makassar City.

In his statement, Dr. Nirmawati Angria, S.Sc., M.Kes as Chair of the D-4 TLM Unimerz study program said that, apart from carrying out health checks, her party also provided education regarding the causes and dangers of obesity to students and teachers at Wahyu Makassar Vocational School.

"We also provide education regarding the factors that cause obesity, the dangers of obesity and prevention of obesity. Apart from that, there is also education about measuring body mass index, the dangers of increasing cholesterol, uric acid and blood glucose. "All the material provided is integrated in the Immunoserology and clinical chemistry courses in the TLM D-4 study program," he explained.

Furthermore, he also hopes that the implementation of this community service can have a positive impact, especially in the health sector.

"We hope that educational activities related to obesity can provide knowledge to students and teachers regarding the health impacts of obesity. "From an early age, students must recognize the factors that can make someone obese, including the habit of snacking and snacking on unhealthy foods," he hoped.
