Open Days is a program carried out by the Megarezky University Admissions Institute (Unimerz) as a way to attract prospective new students for the 2023/2024 Academic Year. Even Unimerz has been recognized as a pioneer of Open Days.
The Open Days program at Unimerz has been running for 4 months, from December 2022 to March 2023. With a total of 25 schools and hundreds of students who have been brought directly to the Megarezky University campus.
The implementation of the Open Days program never ceases to receive praise from the teachers accompanying the students. One of them is Jabbar, S.Pd as a Counseling Guidance (BK) Teacher at SMAN 10 Makassar. He said that he felt that he had been facilitated by the open days at Megarezky University. Because he said, so far many students have asked about good study programs to take when they go to college.
"As a guidance and counseling teacher at school, I feel helped, because all this time students have come to us for consultations regarding what study programs are good and appropriate for them at tertiary level. "So we can only answer general things, but we can't explain more specifically, because it's not our field," he said, Friday (17/3/2023).
"But thank God, today Megarezky University provides facilities for our students to be able to identify study programs, so that later they can know what study programs are suitable for them to take, like the one at Megarezky University. "So later our students can choose whether they are suitable for Health study programs such as D3 Dental Engineering, Optometry, Cardiovascular, bioinformatics, medical laboratory technology and others, or whether they are more interested in non-Health study programs, such as law, economics or education," he added. .
Meanwhile, Eka Sari Ridwan, SKM., M.Kes as Head of the Unimerz Admissions Institute said that Open Days is a form of field research before determining the choice of study program at a university.
"Thank God, this open days activity has been taking place from December 2022 to March, and there are already 25 schools present on our campus, with hundreds of students. "All the school and students gave us a good response, and some of them hope that next year they can still be invited to participate in this open days activity," he said.
"We saw that the students were very happy with this activity, because this activity was the right moment for them to identify which study program was suitable and in line with their interests after graduating from high school and wanting to enroll in college. And Open Days is indeed the right choice for them to do field research, before making their choice to continue their education in the future. We hope that this Open Days activity can continue in the future. "And hopefully this open days activity which has been going on for approximately 4 months can have a positive impact on students, and on the Megarezky University campus in accepting new students," he said.
