Megarezky University (Unimerz) held a public lecture entitled 'Academic Writing for Scopus Journal', at Megarezky University Hall 5th Floor, on Thursday (26/10/2023).
This public lecture presented speakers directly from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), namely Assoc. Prof. Dr. Azlan Abas. He is a Lecture Faculty of Social Science and Humanities National University of Malaysia.
In his remarks, Deputy Chancellor I for Academic Affairs at Megarezky University, Dr. NS. Julia Fitria Ningsih, S.Kep., M.Kes., M.Kep representing the Chancellor of Unimerz said that this public lecture was held to help lecturers to be more active in journal writing.
“In this semester, we have held public lectures related to Scopus twice. "This activity is held for our lecturers who still have to catch up, especially the accredited journal Sinta," he said.
"We also need to know that the number of journals accredited by Sinta can add to the rating value for our campus," he added.
Not only that, he also hopes that in the future Megarezky University can collaborate with the Indonesian National University because they have the same faculty.
"Our hope is that in the future we (Unimerz – UKM) can collaborate in the MBKM program, because there are similar faculties, such as the Pharmacy faculty, the Information Technology Faculty which is the same as the Computer Science faculty, there is also a teaching faculty, economics faculty and several other faculties," he hoped.
Meanwhile, in his presentation, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Azlan Abas said that one of the goals of people writing journal articles is to see differences in perception.
"What is our interest in writing a journal, one of which is to unite differences. Because behind the differences there are of course similarities, such as the same object but in a different context, usually referred to as epistemology. "The epistemology remains the same, but the context may be different," he said.
Also present at this public lecture were the Secretary of the BPH Islamic Education Foundation (YPI) Mega Rezky, the Deputy Chancellors of Megarezky University, the Unimerz Deans, the Chairs and Secretaries of study programs, all lecturers at Megarezky University and Unimerz Postgraduate students.
