The Nursing Professional Education Study Program, Faculty of Nursing & Midwifery (FKK), Megareszky University (Unimerz) successfully held an international expert lecture. This time the expert lecture carried the theme 'Prevention and Management of Communicable Diseases in the Community Nursing Area' which was held in a hybrid manner, in the rectorate meeting room, Floor I of Unimerz, Tuesday (05/08/2023).
In this activity, two speakers were presented, namely MA. Elizabeth Coronel-Baua, RN, RM, MSN, DNE, DNS of St. Paul University Philippines with material on Prevention and Management of Communicable Diseases in the Community Nursing Area, and Ns.Sudirman Efendi, who is also the head of the Unimerz Nursing Professional Education Study Program, presented material on Tuberculosis Disease Control and Prevention in the community nursing area.
The two presenters are Nursing Lecturers who are experienced (Experts) in their respective fields. This international expert lecture activity was moderated by Achmad Indra Awaluddin, S.Kep., Ns., M.Kes, who is one of the Unimerz Nursing lecturers. It seemed that students and lecturers were very enthusiastic about participating in this activity and there were many responses to questions regarding the material presented by the resource persons.
In his statement, the Chair of the International Expert Lecture Committee, Ns.Imran Pashar., M.Kep said that this activity was attended by around 200 participants on a hybrid basis. Some of the participants came from St. Paul University Philippines and attended directly by the Dean of FKK, Dr. Syamsuriyati, SST, SKM, M. Kes . In this activity, Ners Saiful, M.Kep as Deputy Dean I, and Irwansyah, S.Kep., MSN as Deputy Dean II were also present.
The Dean of FKK appreciates the work of the Nursing Professional Education Study Program which always consistently holds international Expert Lectures every semester. We hope that these expert lectures can provide added value for students that can be applied in everyday life, especially the prevention and treatment of infectious diseases.
Apart from expert lectures, a curriculum evaluation was also held with St. Paul University Philippines because the two study programs have the same characteristics, namely community-based. Elizabeth Coronel-Baua believes that the vision and mission of the Nursing Professional Education Study Program is very relevant to the adopted curriculum and the prospects for the world of work in the future will be very helpful for alumni. On that occasion, the Nursing Profession Study Program carried out campus promotions to several St. Paul University Philippines who attended the expert lecture.
