D3 OPTOMETRY PROFILE

The DIII Optometry Study Program at Megarezky University is the FIRST study program in Eastern Indonesia and there are only 12 study programs in Indonesia that were established in 2016 that have been accredited by LAM-PTKes No. : 0224/LAM-PTKes/Akr/Dip/IV/2019.

Optometry is a physical science in the health sector to help sufferers of refractive disorders in the eye in order to carry out eye health efforts and prevent blindness.

The need for optometrists (optometric graduates) in Indonesia is still very large with a ratio of 1 optometrist: 1000 Indonesian population. The current population of Indonesia is 250 million people, which means the need for optometrists in Indonesia is 250,000 people. Meanwhile, optometry personnel until 2018 were only 8,600 people.

Producing competent, professional and competitive optometrists at the national level who excel in the field of low vision by 2034

MISSION

  • Organizing effective and innovative education and learning in the field of optometry that is in line with trends in the development of science and technology
  • Carrying out and anticipating various eye health research on vision maintenance (visioncare)
  • Carry out and anticipate community service activities in the field of vision care services (vision care)
  • Collaborating with various parties in order to improve the quality of higher education's tri dharma as well as being a center for innovation in the field of vision care (visioncare)
  • Implement and anticipate vision rehabilitation programs for sufferers low vision

OBJECTIVE

  • Creating an effective and innovative education and learning system in the field of optometry that is in line with trends in the development of science and technology
  • Producing eye health research work on vision care
  • Realizing community service in the field of vision care services
  • Creating collaboration with various parties in order to improve the quality of higher education's tri dharma as well as becoming a center for innovation in the field of vision care.
