Dean of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Megarezky University (Unimerz), Dr. Abdul Malik Iskandar, S.Ag., M.Si has received a recommendation from the Unimerz Senate to propose a promotion from Associate Professor to Professor, on Monday (31/1/2023).

In his presentation, Dr. Abdul Malik Iskandar, S.Ag., M.Si, who is the proponent, said that his party is planning a formation in Urban Sociology. The reason why he took the formation of Urban Sociology was because he came from the scientific field of Sociology, his book work reviewed urban phenomena, and the dissertation he raised was sociological phenomena.

“God willing, we are planning a formation in Urban Sociology. Why? "Because my field of study is sociology, my dissertation study focuses on sociological phenomena, and the books I wrote examine urban phenomena, such as beggars from a structure-actor perspective, the dynamics of urban community life and social practices," he explained.

Furthermore, he also said that there was some capital that he had prepared in submitting an application from the Associate Professor to the Professor.

"Some of the capital that I have prepared is 33 journals, 2 international proceedings and 15 books consisting of reference books, monographs and chapters," he explained.

"The minimum score to apply for a Professorship is 850. My score at the time as Associate Professor was 400. So if calculated, I only need 450 scores to reach 850. And Alhamdulillah, if accumulated, my score has reached far more than the required score," he concluded.

For your information, this senate meeting was also attended directly by all members of the Megarezky Makassar University Senate.
