DIV TLM Unimerz Lecturers and Students Hold Community Service at SDN Badokka

Community service is one of the demands of being a university member. So that all academics, especially lecturers, are obliged to carry out this tridharma.

Therefore, lecturers who collaborate with Medical Laboratory Technology students (DIV TLM), go out into the community to apply knowledge packaged in the concept of community service.

DIV TLM Hospital lecturers carry out community service at SD Negeri Baddoka Sudiang, Tuesday (15/2/2022). The themes raised were education, worm examination, administration of worm medicine and examination of blood group cards for Baddoka State Elementary School students, Makassar City.

A total of 10 lecturers and 15 DIV TLM students provided education or counseling regarding the dangers of worm infections, environmental sanitation and PHBS (Clean and Healthy Lifestyle).

Apart from that, the DIV TLM lecturers and students carried out worm examinations in the feces of Baddoka Elementary School students (120 students). Prevention of worms by providing free deworming medication, blood type checks and providing blood type cards.

According to the head of the DIV Hospital Technology study program, Nirmawati Anggeriyah, the implementation of this community service is a momentum in helping the government to overcome and prevent the increase in cases of worms in elementary school age children.

"Increasing learning concentration without worms produces and creates intelligent children and a bright future," he said.

"Apart from that, blood group checks are carried out so that children can know their blood type from an early age. "And the blood type card can be used for his own needs later," concluded Nirmawati. (rls)
