Hermon Timika Papua Teacher Training and Education College (STKIP) visited Megarezky University (Unimerz) Makassar, on Thursday (22/6/2023). The STKIP Hermon Timika team was warmly welcomed by the Unimerz academic community, in the meeting room of the Makassar Megarezky Health Polytechnic.
The purpose of STKIP Hermon Timika Papua's visit to Unimerz was for a comparative study as well as signing an MoU between the two campuses, as well as an MoA with the Unimerz Physical Education study program.
Also present at this activity were the Chair of the Islamic Education Foundation (YPI) Mega Rezky; Hj Suryani, SH, MH, Chancellor of Megarezky University; Prof. Dr. Dr. Ali Aspar Mappahya, Sp.PD., Sp.JP(K), Vice Chancellors of Unimerz, Deans of Unimerz, Lecturers and staff of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Unimerz, STKIP team Hermon Timika Papua and student representatives Unimerz Physical Education.
In his speech, Prof. Dr. Dr. Ali Aspar Mappahya, Sp.PD., Sp.JP(K) as Chancellor of Unimerz expressed his gratitude for the visit from STKIP to Unimerz. He also hopes that in the future we can work together well.
“We thank you very much for this STKIP visit. "Hopefully good things can be brought and transferred to Unimerz, and vice versa, this visit can provide additional insight and knowledge to STKIP Hermon Timika Papua," he said.
"Our hope is that with this meeting we can build good cooperation with each other, of course so that we can bring positive energy to these two campuses, namely Megarezky University Makassar and STKIP Hermon Timika Papua. "Hopefully in the future, we can also visit there," he hoped.
Likewise, in his speech, the Dean of FKIP Unimerz; Dr. Abdul Malik Iskandar, S.Ag., M.Si hopes that in the future STKIP Hermon Timika and Megarezky University can share benefits, especially in the academic field.
"From this meeting there will certainly be sharing of benefits, or often benefits, especially related to academic experience between STKIP Hermon Timika Papua and Megarezky University. The hope is that in the future there can be exchanges of teaching staff. "Because of good academic performance, lecturer productivity will increase the productivity of the study program itself," he said.
Meanwhile, the Representative from STKIP Hermon Timika Papua, Habibie Sutarta, M.Pd expressed his gratitude for welcoming the Unimerz campus. He also hopes that when they return to Papua, they can bring academic provisions that they can implement on their campus.
“This is a very extraordinary welcome. The reception was extraordinary. Thank God, we and the group team were very well received at Megarezky University. Megarezky University is our main destination for conducting comparative studies. Honestly, our problem is that graduation is not on time, we have students who graduate not in the right semester. So we took the initiative in the study program to come to study at Unimerz, especially curriculum issues. Our campus is not as luxurious as the Megarezky University campus. The study room is very nice. There we were all lacking.
"We hope that we can take a lot of provisions home and implement them there. "Hopefully this comparative study can provide a lot of provisions for returning to Papua," he said.
For your information, after welcoming the team, the STKIP Hermon Timika Papua group was invited to go on a tour to see the facilities and infrastructure at Megarezky University.
