The Indonesian Pentaque Sports Federation (FOPI) together with the South Sulawesi (Sulsel) Youth and Sports Service (Dispora) are holding the 2022 South Sulawesi Pentaque Open Championship, at the Megarezky University (Unimerz) field, starting 23-25 December 2022.

When met at the match location, Adi Almas as Referee Coordinator (Arbit) said that this was the third time Unimerz had hosted a match organized by the South Sulawesi Dispora. "Today the competition is Triple Man and Triple Woman Number 2. It is being held here (Unimerz) because it is one of the campuses that has the best fields and has met national standards.

"Apart from that, the Unimerz academic community also really supports this competition," he said, Wednesday (23/11/2022). "This is the third time the match has been held at Unimerz, namely Pomnas, Regional Championship and National Championship," he added. He also said that the participants who attended the match came from various regions, including West Sulawesi and the oldest bay in South Sulawesi. "Some of the participants are from West Sulawesi, there are also those from the oldest bay in South Sulawesi, NNS. "Why is it called the oldest bay, because the first athlete in South Sulawesi came from Club NNS," he explained.
